Ameren Illinois unveils new bill format
Energy use info, easier-to-read graphics among key improvements

COLLINSVILLE, Ill., April 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of a continuous effort to give customers more information to help them control their energy usage and manage costs, Ameren Illinois has launched an updated design to its monthly bill.  The new design is packed with features that make it easier for customers to find the information they need, including the summary of charges, amount due and the due date.

"The new bill was designed with our customers in mind," said Shirley Stennis, Director of Customer Service.  "We asked them what information was most important and how we could best display that information to improve their experience."

Most notable is improved use of color and graphics to help customers track the amount of energy they are using, with tips and strategies to help them use less and save more.  Crisply designed  charts provide customers with an easy way to compare their usage over time, and even find the average temperature for the month.  In addition, the bill better delineates between the gas and electric delivery charges, and provides easy-to-understand information for customers who receive their electric supply from a third-party provider.

"We are already receiving positive feedback from customers who have received the new bill," said Stennis.  "Our goal is to give customers the information they need to manage their energy usage more effectively."
