Ameren named a top military-friendly employer for eighth consecutive year
ST. LOUIS, Nov. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ameren announced today that it has earned the 2017 Military Friendly® Employers designation by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs®, STEM JobsSM, and Military Spouse. Ameren has a long history of employing and supporting military veterans and their families. This marks the eighth consecutive year Ameren has received the Military Friendly® Employers designation.

Since 2012, Ameren has hired 172 military veterans and spouses. The company also sponsors a dedicated employee group, which serves as a resource for military veterans and their families, and provides generous benefits to support members and their families during times of deployment. During the past year, the Ameren Military-Veteran Employees (AMVE) group participated in recruitment efforts and veteran employment fairs; organized care-package drives for those deployed; hosted diversity festivals and events to raise awareness of the unique challenges faced by military personnel; sponsored Honor Flights; built wheelchair ramps at the homes of injured and infirmed veterans; and adopted military families during the holidays.
