National Magazine Recognizes Ameren Illinois President Richard Mark for Making Positive Impact in Local Communities

COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (APRIL 5, 2018) – Savoy magazine recognizes Ameren Illinois Chairman and President Richard J. Mark.

He is featured in the Spring issue as one the Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America.  An article Mark wrote about the three pillars of building customer trust – Knowing Customer Needs, Communication, and Accountability – was also published in the issue.

"Role modeling is one of the most effective tools for developing and empowering future leaders," said L.P. Green, II, publisher of Savoy magazine. "Richard Mark is among the men and women who have demonstrated superior leadership at the highest levels of their field. He and our other honorees are innovative trailblazers who have fostered growth at the top performing companies in the world."

Savoy magazine previously named Mark as one of the most influential Black executives in Corporate America in 2014 and 2016. This year's list is a salute to leaders for their exemplary record of accomplishments and influence while working to better their community and inspire others.

"Throughout my career I have made it a point to not just be a leader at work, but to leverage my capabilities and resources to influence positive change in my community," said Mark.  "I'm grateful that Savoy magazine recognizes these accomplishments and those of the other black executives who join me on this year's distinguished list."

As one of the initial Executive Sponsors of Ameren’s Network of Minority Employees, Mark was instrumental in developing networking and training opportunities for Ameren’s minority co-workers.  In 2017, he initiated the "Courage Tour" – a series of presentations and group discussions to help employees engage in crucial conversations and recognize opportunities to foster diversity and inclusion.

Savoy’s Spring issue features a double cover series featuring Kenneth C. Frazier, CEO of Merck & Co., with an alternate cover featuring Chadwick Boseman, star of the Hollywood blockbuster Black Panther by Marvel Studios.
