Ameren Missouri Strengthening Farmington Area Electrical Network
Upgrades Improving Reliability and Preparing for Growth

Customers in the Farmington, Mo. area will benefit from more reliable electric service thanks to a $170,000 Ameren Missouri upgrade that is slated to be completed this month.

Ameren Missouri currently is replacing poles and installing new, larger power lines along an approximately half-mile stretch of State Highway D just north of Farmington, between Groom and Schilling roads. Work on the project, which began in early February, is scheduled to be completed in late March, said John Province, an Ameren Missouri engineer.

"The new poles and lines will help ensure our Farmington area customers have the reliable power they need," Province said. "At the same time, we're providing additional capacity to serve the area as it grows."

The project also included the installation earlier this month of three new voltage regulators to improve power quality for customers north of Farmington.
