Ameren Illinois nears completion of storm restoration work
Crews restore service to most customers after major winter storm

After battling weather and hazardous working conditions throughout the day and night, Ameren Illinois field crews and support staff have restored service to nearly all customers impacted by yesterday's winter storm.

More than 1,000 Ameren Illinois crews and contract workers from Illinois and four other states worked tirelessly to restore more than 152,000 outages caused by 45-55 mph winds and heavy snow on Wednesday. More than 180 poles and 560 wires were damaged.

The Ameren Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was activated at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning to coordinate restoration of customers impacted throughout the Ameren Illinois territory.

Information about remaining outages can be found at AmerenIllinois.com/outages. Customers and media can also receive timely updates on outage restoration, and storm safety information, by following the Ameren Illinois news feed at twitter.com/AmerenIllinois and Facebook.com/AmerenIllinois.
