Boeing Executive James C. Johnson Elected, 11 Directors Re-Elected to Ameren Board
Shareholders of Ameren Corporation (NYSE: AEE) today elected James Clarence Johnson, vice president, corporate secretary and assistant general counsel of The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA), to the Ameren Corporation Board of Directors.

Re-elected to membership on Ameren's board were 11 other business leaders: Susan S. Elliott, chairman and co-chief executive officer of Systems Service Enterprises, Inc.; Gayle P. W. Jackson, Ph.D, president of Energy Global, Inc.; Richard A. Liddy, retired chairman of GenAmerica Financial Corporation; Gordon A. Lohman, retired chairman and chief executive officer of AMSTED Industries Incorporated; Richard A. Lumpkin, chairman of Consolidated Communications, Inc.; Paul L. Miller, Jr., president and chief executive officer of P. L. Miller & Associates; Charles W. Mueller, retired chairman and chief executive officer of Ameren and AmerenUE and retired chairman of CILCORP Inc. and AmerenCILCO; Douglas R. Oberhelman, group president of Caterpillar Inc.; Gary L. Rainwater, chairman, chief executive officer and president of Ameren Corporation, AmerenUE, and CILCORP and chairman and chief executive officer of AmerenCIPS, AmerenCILCO and AmerenIP; Harvey Saligman, partner of Cynwyd Investments; and Patrick T. Stokes, president and chief executive officer of Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. and chairman and chief executive officer of Anheuser-Busch, Incorporated.

A member of Boeing's management team, Johnson is charged with providing legal support to the general counsel and the board of directors of Boeing. He is responsible for corporate governance, including implementation of many of the governance requirements arising out of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.

Johnson leads Boeing's legal teams that are responsible for company financing activities, compliance with federal securities laws and mergers and acquisitions. Johnson joined The Boeing Company in 1998 after serving for more than a decade with Northrop Grumman Corporation, where his last position was as corporate vice president, secretary and assistant general counsel. Before joining Northrop, Johnson was an associate at various California-based law firms and for several years served in various capacities as an attorney for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. He holds his undergraduate and juris doctor (law) degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and is a resident of Chicago, Ill.

With assets of $17 billion, Ameren serves 2.3 million electric customers and 900,000 natural gas customers in a 64,000-square-mile area of Missouri and Illinois.
