Ameren Missouri named top performer in business customer satisfaction by J.D. Power for second year in a row

ST. LOUIS, Jan. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second consecutive year, Ameren Missouri received the J.D. Power award for the highest ranking among large Midwest utilities for overall customer satisfaction with business electric service customers. The study, now in its 18th year, measures satisfaction among business customers of 87 targeted U.S. electric utilities, each of which serves more than 40,000 business customers.

Ameren Missouri improved by 58 index points year-over-year in the J.D. Power 2016 Calendar-Year Electric Utility Business Customer Satisfaction Study. A strong performance in customer service, power quality, communications, corporate citizenship, reliability, and billing and payment scores show the value that its business customers feel they receive for the price that they pay.

"Ameren Missouri has persistently focused on improving the overall experience for our business customers while continuing to provide safe, affordable, and dependable service for all customers," said Michael Moehn, president, Ameren Missouri. "I want to thank our customers for recognizing our commitment to them through the results of this study."

The study is based on responses from more than 20,000 online interviews with business customers across the nation.

In 2016 Ameren Missouri was in the top quartile in the nation in a reliability metric known as SAIFI, which measures how often the average customer experiences a sustained outage over a period of time. In addition, the company's commercial electric rates are 19 percent below the Midwest average.*  Today, Ameren Missouri is looking to the future on ways to modernize the electric grid so that reliability and affordability can be maintained in the decades ahead to continue to meet customer expectations.

Ameren Missouri has been providing electric and gas service for more than 100 years, and the company's electric rates are among the lowest in the nation. Ameren Missouri's mission is to power the quality of life for its 1.2 million electric and 127,000 natural gas customers in central and eastern Missouri. The company's service area covers 64 counties and more than 500 communities, including the greater St. Louis area.
