COLLINSVILLE, IL (December 13, 2018) – Four organizations were named Ameren Illinois Energy Innovator award winners recently during an awards reception in Springfield. The inaugural Energy Innovators competition recognizes organizations for their outstanding achievements in energy efficiency.
The Sangamon County Department of Community Resources was named the Energy Innovator of the Year for its Good Faith Payment Assistance Program, and its Energy Savings class. The group received a $10,000 award to expand the programs in 2019.
"Our Energy Innovator award recipients represent the best of the best in energy efficiency in Illinois," said Ameren Illinois President Richard J. Mark. "These organizations have taken a proactive approach to energy efficiency and tailored their programs to meet the specific needs of their communities or their organizations. We are pleased to recognize these progressive organizations for their work to reduce energy usage and promote energy efficiency."
To be considered for an Energy Innovator award, projects or programs had to take place between June 1, 2017 and May 31, 2018.
Organizations were eligible to receive an award in one of three categories:
The top organization in each category received $1,000 and the overall winner received $10,000 towards an energy efficiency project.
