Public invited to learn about proposed investments and offer feedback
COLLINSVILLE, IL (April 4, 2025) – Ameren Illinois will be hosting an open house on Wednesday, April 9 in East St. Louis to share the company's plans to improve the natural gas delivery system and prepare for an equitable transition to clean energy. The open house will provide members of the public with an opportunity to hear first-hand from Ameren Illinois leaders about the company's natural gas reliability plan that was filed with the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) in January.
The plan, which would take effect in December 2025 if approved by the ICC, includes investments to meet federal pipeline safety requirements, upgrade and replace outdated transmission and distribution pipelines, and improve the efficiency of the company's underground storage fields. It also includes pilot programs to support development of new technologies and approaches to affordably decarbonize the natural gas system.
