Adopt-the-Shoreline Workshop March 8 will help Prepare Volunteers for the Annual Spring Cleanup
Current, new and prospective volunteers are encouraged to attend

The 2012 Annual Shoreline Cleanup will be held March 17 through April 15. In preparation, the Adopt-the-Shoreline organization at Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks has scheduled a workshop on March 8 to help new and prospective Adopt-the-Shoreline members learn about the program and how to conduct successful cleanups.

It will be held at the Climax Springs Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) Post 3600 on Highway 7, beginning at 6 p.m.

During the workshop, current members will have the opportunity to share information and ideas with new and prospective members. Among the topics that will be discussed are: adopting sections of shoreline or assisting other cleanup groups; boating safety, equipment and required tools; and safety-related procedures and tips to have a fun and successful shoreline cleanup. Additionally, volunteers will be recognized for their hard work and efforts.

Adopt-the-Shoreline is sponsored by Ameren Missouri, which provides administrative support, supplies trash bags, and pays for disposal, and the cleanups are performed entirely by volunteers. For more information on the workshop, call the Adopt-the-Shoreline office at 573.365.9252.
