On May 8 and 9, Ameren Illinois businesses and nonprofit electric and natural gas customers will have an opportunity to learn how they can cut energy bills and receive Ameren Illinois ActOnEnergy® program energy efficiency financial incentives.
All Ameren Illinois business and nonprofit customers who attend one of the two symposium sessions also will receive a special 15 percent incentive bonus coupon. Businesses and nonprofits who redeemed their 2011 bonus coupons have received an average of $4,100 in bonus incentive payments.
The May 8 session will be held from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Collinsville Gateway Center, One Gateway Drive, Collinsville. The May 9 event will be held at the Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, 201 Broadway Ave., Normal, and also will run from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
There is no charge to attend, but registration is required by visiting AOEregistration.com or by calling 1-866-800-0747. All who attend will receive a complimentary lunch.
Representatives of local governments and other public entities whose energy efficiency programs are administered by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity also are encouraged to attend the symposium.
Bill LeBlanc, president of the Boulder Energy Group, will be the keynote speaker on both days. A much in demand public speaker, LeBlanc is an energy efficiency leader and innovator known for presenting his messages with a healthy dose of humor. LeBlanc will discuss emerging energy efficiency issues and show how businesses are changing their behaviors to achieve maximum savings.
“The ActOnEnergy Business Symposiums serve a critical need in Illinois energy management by bringing interested people together to share practical solutions, administrative lessons and new technologies,” said Jeff Bair, energy manager for Keystone Steel & Wire, Bartonville.
“The 15 percent bonus is a real benefit for attending the ActOnEnergy symposium. The coupon netted my company an additional $50,000 in a large custom project. You can bet I won’t miss this year’s meeting,” Bair said.
“”We attended the ActOnEnergy Business Symposium last spring and learned the latest information on energy savings ideas from very knowledgeable speakers,” said Jim Schultz maintenance manager for WIS-PAK in Quincy. “I would recommend to anyone who is interested in saving money on their energy bills to attend one of these symposiums.
“Attending the seminar included a 15 percent bonus coupon for each of us. We had only one project in mind, but after attending we discovered another venture that would save even more energy,” Schultz said.
“The symposium was very enlightening to the consumer. Information was presented in a manner that was easy to understand. It did meet my expectations, and I would recommend that others attend. Yes, I would attend again,” said Bonnie Fietsam of St. Augustine Church in Belleville.
“This was on par with many costly symposiums I have attended,” said Jim Broach, Board of Directors, Westminster Village, Bloomington. “It is a great benefit and value to businesses.”
