Ameren Missouri recognizes the sacrifice the men and women of the armed forces make to serve their country. In honor of their commitment, Ameren Missouri is providing Missouri military families in need with $200,000 in energy assistance.
"Serving in the armed forces puts an emotional, physical and financial strain on families. We can help by offering energy assistance to military families so they have one less thing to worry about," says Michael Moehn, senior vice president, Customer Operations, Ameren Missouri.
Members of all branches of the military living in Ameren Missouri's service territory are eligible for this energy assistance. Four hundred families who qualify may receive a $500 energy credit on their utility bills. To determine eligibility, military personnel or family members should contact the Missouri National Guard Family Program Office at 573.638.9500 ext. 7681.
"The Ameren Missouri Military Energy Assistance program will help many military families in need," says Lt. Col. Christopher L. Mickan, administrative officer, 70th Troop Command, Missouri National Guard. "Many military personnel struggle with re-employment upon return from deployment. Ameren Missouri has reached out during sluggish economic times by providing a program that will make a positive impact on the Citizen Soldiers and Airmen of Missouri. God bless Ameren Missouri and all of the other Missourians who support the military."
Energy assistance to military personnel is part of Ameren Missouri's ongoing commitment to the community. In June, the company announced donations of 600 air conditioners to customers in need, as well as its ongoing commitment to Dollar More. These programs are funded by corporate contributions from shareholders and are not charged to customers through electric or natural gas rates.
