For the fourth straight year, the Association of Diversity Councils has recognized Ameren as having one of the Top 25 organizational diversity councils in the United States. Ameren’s Corporate Diversity Council was ranked 16th in the nation.
Ameren is one of seven diversity councils that has been on the Top 25 list since the award’s origin in 2009.
“It is an honor for Ameren to be named among the 2012 Top 25 Diversity Councils in the country,” said Linda Stokes, president and CEO, PRISM International – the parent organization of the Association of Diversity Councils. “As an original member of our first Top 25, this honor signifies that the efforts of Ameren’s Diversity Council and the involvement of Ameren’s leadership is producing extraordinary results for the diversity and inclusion process.”
According to the Association of Diversity Councils, Ameren’s 20-member council was lauded for developing a three-year strategic plan for educating and communicating the diversity goals and initiatives to all members of the organization as well as advancing its culture of inclusion by producing its own internal diversity videos. The videos have made a significant impact by opening doors to powerful conversations and challenging employees to think through workplace interaction.
“Every year the bar is raised to make the Association of Diversity Councils’ Top 25,” said Sharon Harvey Davis, vice president and chief diversity officer, Ameren. “I am proud that our company, leadership and diversity council are equal to the challenge of continually improving and are once again being recognized as industry-leading by this national organization. Diversity enriches our company and provides better service for our customers.”
Warner Baxter, president and CEO, Ameren Missouri, serves as the executive sponsor of the Diversity Council.
“This well-deserved honor reflects the continuous focus our diversity council has for Ameren to be an inclusive place to work and a recognized industry leader in diversity,” Baxter said. “I congratulate each member of our council. We will not rest on our laurels because our efforts truly make Ameren and our community a better place.”
