Ameren Missouri Makes Significant Progress on Power Restoration
Power Restored to 60,000 Customers in 24 Hours

Ameren Missouri restoration efforts are significantly decreasing outages resulting from Thursday’s wind storm.

“We think we will have most, if not all, our customers’ power restored by the end of the day Friday,” says Michael Moehn, senior vice president of customer operations at Ameren Missouri. “As of 11 a.m., power has been restored to more than 60,000 customers impacted by the storm.”

More than 730 field checkers, tree trimmers and lineman are aggressively working to restore power for approximately 2,700 of Ameren Missouri’s 1.2 million customers experiencing outages. Most of the outages resulted from high winds that caused trees or tree branches to fall on power lines.

As always, Ameren Missouri’s primary concern is the safety of customers and employees. The most important safety rule is to stay clear of downed power lines. Always call Ameren Missouri at 1-800-552-7583 or 911 if you see low-hanging or downed lines and assume all downed power lines are energized. Also, stay clear of brush, shrubs and downed trees that may hide downed lines.

While every effort is being made to restore power as quickly as possible, customers with special needs—including those with medical conditions, seniors, handicapped and others who are dependent on electric service—may wish to consider making alternative arrangements if outages in their areas persist.

Additional storm safety information is available on the Storm Outage Center on Ameren Missouri’s Web site – AmerenMissouri.com.
