Ameren Missouri Power Restoration Efforts Near Completion
Storm-Related Outages Peak at 13,200, Now Below 1,500

In spite of challenging weather conditions, Ameren Missouri restoration efforts lead to a significant decrease in outages resulting from Tuesday’s snow storm in mid-state areas.

As of 9 a.m., customer outages are below 1,500, from a peak of 13,257 Tuesday afternoon. Currently, there are approximately 500 co-workers deployed, which include linemen, tree trimmers and support staff. The majority of outages stem from heavy snow weighing down power lines and trees.

Storm trailers, which are used as mobile warehouses to get needed materials closer to the crews performing restoration, are now located in Moberly, Lake of the Ozarks, Boonville and Jefferson City.

“We expect to have the vast majority of remaining customer power outages restored by late afternoon today,” says Michael Moehn, senior vice president of Customer Operations. “While we are working aggressively to restore power quickly, we want our co-workers to take the time to focus on safety in the hazardous weather and travel conditions we are experiencing.”

As always, Ameren Missouri’s primary concern is the safety of customers and employees. Always call Ameren Missouri at 1.800.552.7583 or 911 if you see low-hanging or downed lines and assume all downed power lines are energized. Customers are encouraged to call 1.800.552.7583 to report any remaining power outages.

While every effort is being made to restore power as quickly as possible, customers with special needs—including those with medical conditions, seniors, handicapped and others who are dependent on electric service—may wish to consider making alternative arrangements if outages in their areas persist.
