On May 21, Ameren Illinois businesses and nonprofit electric and natural gas customers will have an opportunity to learn how to reduce energy bills and receive Ameren Illinois ActOnEnergy® program energy efficiency financial incentives.
The symposium will run from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites & Riverfront Conference Center, 100 Conference Center Drive, East Peoria.
All Ameren Illinois business and nonprofit customers who attend the symposium will receive a special 15 percent incentive bonus coupon. Those who redeemed bonus coupons from previous symposiums received an average of $5,200 in bonus incentive payments.
There is no charge to attend, but registration is required by visiting ActOnEnergy.com/symposium or by calling 1-866-800-0747. All who attend will receive a complimentary lunch. In addition, those who register by March 31 are eligible to win an iPod Touch or Apple TV. Those who register by between April 1 and April 30 are eligible to win an Apple TV.
Representatives of local governments and other public entities whose energy efficiency programs are administered by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity also are encouraged to register and attend the symposium. A portion of the symposium breakout sessions will be provided by DCEO regarding the Illinois Energy Now program they administer for governmental and other public entity customers of Ameren Illinois.
“The ActOnEnergy program has made a very positive impact at Bradley University. The cash incentives have helped make some projects possible that otherwise may have been deferred. The education and consultation provided by ActOnEnergy has also been of great benefit to the university,” said LeRoy Neilson, Bradley University utilities supervisor.
“Can’t wait to attend the symposium to learn more ways we can become more energy efficient,” said Mike Gabbert, facilities manager for the Children’s Home Association of Illinois in Peoria and Bloomington.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed the symposiums that I have attended and learned much,” said Bruce Fitzgerald, parish administrator for St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Washington.
“We are very happy with our change to both LEDs and T8 lighting. We switched over 350 of our 350 of our flood lights in our showroom to LED floods. Since the change-over, we are saving over $600 per month on our Ameren Illinois bill. The payback on energy savings alone is only 22 months. With the ActOnEnergy incentive, the payback was only 19 months,” said Jack Steger, president of Steger Furniture in Pekin.
ActOnEnergy offers all business customers – including private schools and nonprofits – energy efficiency incentives for lighting, refrigeration, motor systems and HVAC systems. Incentives also are available for retro commissioning, multi-family buildings, commercial kitchen equipment, and hotel and motel guest room energy management systems.
ActOnEnergy also offers incentives and rebates to residential customers. For more information on residential programs, visit ActOnEnergy.com, call 1-866-838-6918 or send an email to: ActOnEnergyResidential@ameren.com.
The ActOnEnergy program is funded through a small charge (Rider EDR for electricity customers and Rider GER for natural gas customers) on customer bills. These charges are mandated by state law.
