Ameren Missouri Restores Power to Customers
The Emergency Operations Center Will Remain Open Tonight

Today, Ameren Missouri made significant progress restoring power to customers in the St. Louis area who were affected by Monday night’s severe storms. Currently, fewer than 800 customers are without power, and the company expects all customers to be restored later this evening. Approximately 800 crew members assisted with restoration efforts.

The Ameren Missouri Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will remain open tonight as more severe storms may pass through the company’s service territory. In addition to preparing, Ameren Missouri is urging customers to be safe and use precaution in the event of outages.

“By keeping the EOC open, we remain ready and prepared for potential outages that may be caused by the storms that continue to move through Missouri,” said Michael Moehn, senior vice president of Ameren Missouri Customer Operations. “We are taking proactive measures and encouraging customers to plan ahead for the sake of safety and to take necessary actions to help mitigate issues that can accompany outages.”

Here are preparation tips for customers: have a battery-powered radio and flashlights available, along with drinking water, canned/no-cook foods, a first aid kit and supply of any necessary medications. While every effort is made to restore power as quickly as possible, customers with special needs – including those with medical conditions, seniors, handicapped and others who are dependent on electric service – may wish to consider making alternative arrangements if outages in their areas persist.

Customers with outages should contact the Customer Service Center at 1.800.552.7583. Additionally, customers who see downed power lines are encouraged to stay away from them, warn others to stay way, and immediately contact Ameren Missouri or call 911. Assume all downed power lines are energized. Stay inside because you may walk into an energized power line. Stay clear of brush, shrubs and downed trees that may hide downed lines.
