Power Restored to a Majority of Ameren Missouri Customers

Ameren Missouri crews have restored power to a majority of the customers who lost service during Friday’s tornadoes and storms. Currently, there are less than 3,000 customers without power, which is down from approximately 95,000 at the peak of the outages. Ameren Missouri expects power to be restored to nearly all of the remaining customers overnight.

The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will remain open as crews work throughout the night to ensure all outages are addressed.

“We appreciate the patience and support our customers have shown us during the restoration,” said Michael Moehn, senior vice president, Ameren Missouri Customer Operations. “We understand how difficult it is to be without electricity. Our crews in the field and behind-the-scenes have been relentless in the effort to bring power back to our customers.”

Most of the damage to the company’s utility infrastructure occurred along the path of the tornadoes, which devastated parts of St. Charles County and North County. More than 2,800 crew members, including linemen, field checkers, tree trimmers, and mutual assistance workers from five states, have worked around the clock to restore power.

Currently, crews are focused on restoring power to those few customers who are still without service. The company pledges its commitment to this restoration effort until every customer impacted by the storms has power.

Customers can report outages at AmerenMissouri.com, ameren.mobi or by contacting the Customer Service Center at 1.800.552.7583. Additionally, customers who see downed power lines are encouraged to stay away from them, warn others to stay way, and immediately contact Ameren Missouri or call 911. Assume all downed power lines are energized. Stay inside because you may walk into an energized power line. Stay clear of brush, shrubs and downed trees that may hide downed lines.
