Ameren Illinois nears completion of storm restoration work
Crews work throughout the night to restore service to more than 31,000 customers

After battling weather and hazardous working conditions throughout the night, Ameren Illinois field crews and support staff have restored service to nearly all customers in the wake of a line of severe storms that knocked out power at more than 31,000 customer locations throughout the service territory.

Since yesterday morning, when the first system began moving through Illinois, 31,442 customers were without power, approximately 20,500 of those outages occurring after 6 p.m. yesterday. The areas hardest hit by this line of storms were the Metro East St. Louis area and southern portions of the service territory, including the city of Marion. Restoration work continues for some customers in Belleville, Maryville and Shawnee.

During a storm, customers are reminded to stay away from downed power lines and immediately report any downed lines to Ameren Illinois at 800-755-5000.

Detailed safety and outage information is available at IllinoisOutage.com. Customers with mobile devices can visit Ameren.mobi.
