Ameren Missouri prepares for winter storm
Employees placed on alert to respond to potential service disruptions

With a winter storm watch issued throughout most of Ameren Missouri's service territory, the company is preparing operational teams to respond quickly in the event of service disruptions.

“Ameren Missouri is already taking the appropriate steps to prepare for any service disruptions our customers may experience due to the forecasted ice accumulations this weekend,” said Michael Moehn, president, Ameren Missouri. “It's important to also remind our customers to take precautions during predicted severe weather by staying away from downed lines and reporting any issues to Ameren Missouri.”

In preparation for the forecasted winter storm, Ameren Missouri is taking the following actions:

  • Activating Ameren Missouri's Emergency Operations Center in anticipation of this weekend's storm. Co-workers and contractor personnel are on alert and ready for deployment to impacted areas. Ameren Missouri has also sent out an inquiry for mutual assistance to other utilities in case additional crews are needed.
  • Utilizing Quantum Weather, a one-of-a-kind state-wide weather monitoring system linked to Saint Louis University's department of meteorology that provides predictions of severe weather hours in advance.
  • Loading and preparing to deploy storm trailers filled with materials field crews need to perform service restoration work. Like mobile warehouses, trailers can be moved to various staging sites to provide materials close to impacted areas.
  • Staying in close contact with the Missouri Department of Transportation to continue to monitor upcoming road conditions.

Customer Safety Tips

  • Call Ameren Missouri at 1.800.552.7583 to report downed lines and outages.
