Ameren Illinois Receives Energy Efficiency Awards from Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance
Company's Groundbreaking Work to Bring Energy Efficiency to More Low- and Moderate- Income Customers Recognized by Industry Trade Group
Keith Martin, director of Energy Efficiency Operations, Ameren Illinois, accepts an award from John Nicol, Energy Program Director, Leidos at the Midwest Energy Solutions Conference in Chicago on Thursday.

Ameren Illinois was recently recognized by the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) for helping customers reduce their energy usage and save on their energy bills.

“This year’s Inspiring Efficiency Award winners are some of the most impressive candidates we’ve seen in our many years recognizing the innovators in the energy efficiency community,” said MEEA Executive Director Stacey Paradis. “The Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance is committed to supporting sustainable economic development and encouraging environmental stewardship and Ameren Illinois clearly met those objectives.”

Ameren Illinois is being recognized by MEEA  for assisting low- and moderate-income residents  with energy-saving  upgrades in their homes and for its “3 Minutes to Start Saving”  marketing campaign which promoted the availability of the program to income-qualified residential customers.

Since the redesigned income-qualified offering launched in September 2016, customers have realized more than $880,000 in annual energy savings.  The “3 Minutes to Start Saving" marketing campaign identified more than 500 residential households eligible for home retrofit projects.

"On behalf of our entire team, I would like to thank MEEA for this recognition," said Richard J. Mark, chairman and president of Ameren Illinois. "Through our Income-Qualified offering, more low- and  moderate-income customers are benefitting  from  incentives to reduce their energy consumption and save money, while supporting much-needed investment in the community. We're proud of our work to develop a first-of-its-kind program that puts these money-saving tools in the hands of those who need  them most."

Ameren Illinois was recognized Thursday evening at an awards ceremony hosted by MEEA during its Midwest Energy Solutions Conference in Chicago.
