Ameren Corporation Announces Election of Officers, Names Head of Illinois Energy Delivery Operations
Gary L. Rainwater, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Ameren Corporation (NYSE: AEE), announced today the election of two officers and changes of responsibility for others. These changes take effect Sept. 1.

David J. Schepers, 50, has been elected vice president, Energy Delivery Technical Services, where he has served as general manager since 2003. Schepers joined the company in 1974. He will report to Ameren Senior Vice President-Energy Delivery David A. Whiteley.

Dennis W. Weisenborn, 50, has been elected vice president, Supply Services, where he has served as general manager since 2003. Weisenborn joined the company in 1974. He will report to Ameren Senior Vice President-Administration Daniel F. Cole.

Rainwater also announced that Scott A. Cisel, 50, who serves as vice president and chief operating officer of AmerenCILCO, will assume the additional title of vice president, Illinois Operations, on Sept. 1. He will report to Whiteley. In this new position, Cisel will assume additional responsibility for all Illinois energy delivery operations\-including those of AmerenCIPS and AmerenUE- Illinois. Cisel will also direct the energy delivery operations of Illinois Power Company - to be known as AmerenIP -- upon the expected completion of the pending acquisition of the Decatur, Ill.-based utility company from Dynegy Inc. (NYSE: DYN). The agreement to purchase these assets was announced Feb. 3, 2004, and is expected to be completed before year-end 2004. Cisel served at the Peoria, Ill.-based Central Illinois Light Co. (CILCO) for 28 years and joined the company with Ameren's 2003 acquisition of CILCORP Inc., the parent company of CILCO, from The AES Corporation (NYSE:AES).

With assets of $14.7 billion, Ameren owns a diverse mix of electric generating plants strategically located in its Midwest market with a capacity of more than 14,600 megawatts. Ameren serves 1.7 million electric customers and 500,000 natural gas customers in a 49,000 square-mile area of Missouri and Illinois.
