AmerenUE is contributing $5,000 to Old Newsboys Day as a corporate sponsor of the 2006 Campaign set for Nov. 16, 2006---a year that will mark the celebration of 50 Old Newsboys Day Campaigns to benefit area children's charities.

Within the next few weeks, the organization is distributing nearly $750,000 collected from its 2005 drive to more than 250 local agencies serving children at risk.

AmerenUE is a subsidiary of St. Louis-based Ameren Corporation. Ameren companies serve 2.3 million electric customers and 900,000 natural gas customers in a 64,000-square-mile area of Missouri and Illinois.
