The Morton resident has worked in sales, customer service and marketing positions, most recently as Director of Customer Service. He currently serves on the board of the Heart of Illinois United Way and Common Place in Peoria.

Nelson will direct power procurement, financial analysis and reporting, and regulatory affairs for Ameren Illinois utilities. He had been Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for Ameren Corp., and has experience in corporate planning, merger coordination, finance and accounting. A 28-year veteran of the company, Nelson is a member of the Illinois Energy Association Strategic Issues Group, and the Edison Electric Institute Strategic Planning Committee.
