AmerenUE has purchased and will donate $3,000 worth of materials to aid sandbagging efforts in flood-ravaged Lincoln County, MO. The items will be delivered on Friday, June 27th at 11 a.m. to the Emergency Operations Center at the Winfield Fire District Office, 2663 East Highway 47, in Winfield.
Lincoln County Officials are requesting more help from sandbagging volunteers over the weekend. Volunteers will be putting 1,000 tons of sand into thousands of sandbags to shore up levees in Winfield.
Donated items from AmerenUE include ladders, sawhorses, water, Gatorade, soda, pop-up sun cover tents, sunscreen, insect repellent, pallets and heavy duty plastic sheeting.
“We are happy to show our support of the selfless individuals who are spending their weekend sandbagging,” says Bob Schmidt, manager of UE’s Boone Trails Division. “The people of Winfield are going to have to live with the effects of this flood long after the water recedes. We’re just doing what we can to help in the effort to save this town. “
Schmidt adds that UE checked with emergency management agencies in both St. Charles and Lincoln counties, and only Lincoln County indicated a need at this time.
