Ameren Energy Marketing (AEM), the power marketer for Ameren Energy Resources, announced that it has signed a three-year, fixed price power supply contract with the Village of Maryville, Ill. AEM is part of Ameren Corporation (NYSE: AEE), a Fortune 500 company headquartered in St. Louis, Mo.
The awarded contract represents approximately 1,200 megawatthours of electric generation supply, or more than 90 percent of the total needs of the city government’s operations. Projected annual savings for the city will be approximately $15,000.
“We are excited to partner with AEM to help lower the city’s electric supply costs,” said Maryville Mayor Larry Gulledge. “AEM offers competitive rates and price stability---these are very important to our continued financial strength in this recession.”
“We are very pleased to be able to meet the supply needs of Maryville,” said Don Mosier, vice president of Ameren Energy Marketing. “As the leading unregulated retail electric supplier in the Metro East, we pride ourselves on offering the best products in the industry for managing energy usage.”
AEM has nearly 6,000 commercial, industrial and governmental customers in Illinois and has saved its customers tens of millions of dollars on their generation supply costs.
