AmerenUE reminds its 1.2 million electric customers in Missouri that if they are in the market for a new laptop or PC for the coming school year, look for the ENERGY STAR® logo—the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s assurance that your purchase meets specific energy-saving criteria. Energy savings over the life of the product will offset any extra up-front cost for an ENERGY STAR model—without sacrificing quality or convenience.
Efficiency features of ENERGY STAR laptops and PCs include:
• A low-power “sleep mode” that takes effect after a period of inactivity
• Low power demand—50 watts or less in “idle” mode
• Monitors that do not exceed EPA standards for maximum active power consumption
Many customers can also save money by shopping on the Missouri Tax Holiday, Aug. 6-8. Customers can go to http://dor.mo.gov/tax/business/sales/taxholiday/school/ to check whether a specific town or county is participating.
AmerenUE, founded in 1902, provides electric and gas service to approximately 1.2 million customers across central and eastern Missouri, including the greater St. Louis area. UE serves 57 Missouri counties and 500 towns. The company's electric rates are among the lowest in the nation. For more information, visit www.amerenue.com.
