AmerenUE Rebates are still Available on Certain High Efficiency Natural Gas Equipment
Rebates offered for other Efficiency Improvements, too

Now that fall weather has arrived, AmerenUE reminds its natural gas customers that they can still save energy and money through UE’s Missouri Energy Efficient Natural Gas Equipment Rebate Program. Through the end of 2010, rebates are available to both commercial and residential customers for a portion of the cost of purchasing and installing certain new ENERGY STAR®-qualified energy-efficient natural gas equipment. The program also offers rebates for a portion of the cost of other energy efficiency improvements such as caulking, weather stripping and insulation that resulted from a customer-paid energy audit by a qualified energy auditor.

“We want to encourage our natural gas customers to make their homes and businesses more energy-efficient by upgrading to ENERGY STAR®-qualified products and making other efficiency improvements,” says Richard Mark, UE senior vice president, Customer Operations. “The rebates are intended to help make the cost of such improvements more affordable.”

For commercial customers, the program offers 16 rebates toward a portion of the cost of ENERGY STAR-qualified programmable thermostats, furnaces, water heaters, tankless water heaters, ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles and qualifying kitchen low flow spray wash nozzles. Energy efficiency equipment rebates are also available for part of the cost of making certain energy efficiency improvements to existing equipment, such as a gas boiler tune up, steam trap repairs or replacement, primary air damper replacement, and modulating burner upgrade.

For residential customers, the program offers seven rebates toward a portion of the cost of purchasing and installing ENERGY STAR-qualified programmable thermostats, furnaces, boilers and water heaters (including tankless water heaters).

For both commercial and residential customers, rebates are also available on other energy-efficiency measures such as caulking, weather stripping, ceiling and wall insulation that resulted from a customer-paid energy audit by a qualified energy auditor.

All qualifying equipment must be purchased by Dec. 31, 2010, and installed by Jan. 31, 2011. Applications must be postmarked by Feb. 28, 2011, to qualify for the rebate.

To obtain the rebate, UE customers must submit a rebate form with required documentation to the address on the form. Rebate forms and full program details are available by visiting the UE Energy Efficiency Web site (www.Uefficiency.com). Customers may also get information or request rebate forms by calling 1-800-210-8131.

Rebates are subject to available funding. Before purchasing and installing a qualified natural gas furnace or commercial natural gas utilization equipment, customers must call 1-800-210-8131 for a Reservation Code. This code will help ensure that sufficient funds for the rebate are still available. Reservations are valid for 90 days from the date of issue. A reservation code is not needed for programmable thermostats.

Rebate checks will be mailed within eight to 10 weeks after the submission of a completed rebate form.
