Ameren Illinois today recognized Menards at 2627 W. Townline Road, Peoria for helping customers reduce their electricity costs by more than $25,000 annually.
During the period of June 1, 2009 through May 31, 2010, Menards in Peoria sold more Energy Star qualified high efficiency dehumidifiers, window air conditioners and ceiling fans with lights than any other Act On Energy® participating retailer.
“The selected Energy Star qualified appliances save Ameren Illinois customers money while benefiting the environment,” said Karen Warnke, Ameren Illinois energy efficiency advisor. “In addition, because these appliances use less electricity, power plant emissions are reduced.”
The Ameren Illinois Act On Energy residential appliance program provided Ameren Illinois customers with a combination of mail-in rebates and in-store energy efficiency representatives to help customers select the right appliance to meet their specific requirements.
In partnership with Act On Energy, Menards in Peoria and other participating retailers are now offering Ameren Illinois customers a $25 mail-in rebate on eligible Energy Star qualified dehumidifiers, a $35 rebate on eligible window air conditioners and a $20 rebate on eligible air purifiers. This rebate program runs through May 31, 2011.
