Ameren Missouri Announces Nightly Lane Closure at Bagnell Dam, May 2 through 6
Closure is Necessary for Annual Dam Safety Inspection

Ameren Missouri advises motorists in the Lake of the Ozarks area that the westbound lane of Business Route 54 across Bagnell Dam will be closed nightly from Monday, May 2, through Friday, May 6, to accommodate surveying work at the dam. The surveying is part of a series of routine safety inspections conducted each year to verify the structural integrity of the dam.

The lane will be closed from 6:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. each day to avoid impacting traffic during peak periods. During each closing, traffic cones and flaggers will be located at each end of the dam, enabling traffic from both directions to take turns using the open lane. Ameren Missouri advises motorists to expect delays when crossing the dam, and urges everyone to use extreme caution while driving in the work zone.

The lane closures will take place in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Transportation, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Lake Ozark Police, Fire and Public Works departments, Miller County Sheriff’s Department, Miller County Ambulance District, and the School of the Osage.
