U.S. Military Personnel and Nonprofits Benefit from Ameren Missouri Energy Assistance
The Company Contributes $5 Million to Families and Organizations in Need

A thousand military families have one less thing to worry about now that Ameren Missouri has granted them a thousand dollar credit on their utility bill. The company, working in cooperation with the Missouri National Guard, awarded $1 million in energy credits to Missouri families in need from all branches of the U.S. Military. This commitment to military personnel was the final installment of a $5 million energy assistance program Ameren Missouri announced last August.

"At Ameren Missouri, we believe in supporting the communities we serve and that extends to the military personnel stationed in our state," said Richard Mark, senior vice president of Customer Operations, Ameren Missouri. "We believe those dedicated Missourians shouldn't have to worry about their utility bills while pursuing their mission."

“The military members of our state, Citizen-Soldiers, and Airmen of the Missouri National Guard thank Ameren Missouri for helping our families in need,” said Major Gregory Sampson. “This is an example of the support Ameren Missouri shows the military and the support Missourians show the military.”

Ameren Missouri has a long history of hiring Veterans and supporting employees called into military service. About 800 of the company's employees are Veterans, with the highest percentage employed at the Callaway Energy Center.
Like the other phases of the $5 million commitment—a $2.4 million contribution to the Dollar More energy assistance fund, $300 energy credits for the 100 neediest families in St. Louis, and energy assistance to non-profit agencies—the program was funded by corporate contributions from shareholders and will not be charged to customers through electric or natural gas rates.
